Human acceptance of contact with extraterrestrials would be an existential crisis for most. No matter how prepared we are to believe that extraterrestrial civilizations exist, to be in contact with one of them would be a genuine shock for the majority of people on the planet. For the most part, humans would be confronted with their inability to answer questions of enormous importance to them, particularly when faced with the existence of a set of phenomena they will never fully understand.

First, to become aware of such cognitive and epistemic limits and second, to accept these limits may seriously test humans. Up to now, every epistemological crisis humans have faced has led them to alter their conception of the world. The next epistemological crisis, a crisis precipitated by contact with extraterrestrials, could be very different. Extraterrestrials who have the ability to manipulate their environment through technological development suggest a cultural component. Modeling our response to ET contact could be similar to how we have responded in the past to terrestrial cultures other than our own. Therefore, we should consider how fields such as psychology, sociology, and anthropology can be used as an aid in thinking about the cultural implications of contact.
A growing number of scientists, researchers, religious scholars, authors, anthropologists and archaeologists are shifting their attention away from traditional mainstream paradigms. Instead, they are focusing on the interrelationships between geological and astronomical phenomena; astroarchaeology and archaeoastronomy, and the early history of civilization evidenced by cave art, petroglyphs, geoglyphs, hieroglyphs, archaeological sites and artifacts. This interdisciplinary scientific approach assists us in the correlation between the ancient cultures' knowledge, interpretation and practice regarding how they viewed themselves and their place in the universe; their interconnection to celestial objects and phenomena, and the resulting connection between ancient archaeological sites found around the globe. With this advanced scientific approach, we are moving into new and exciting frontiers that may one day uncover our true origins here on Earth, and ultimately reveal our place in the universe.
We are fortunate to be on the threshold of a new era in understanding these concepts, as well as our connection to the heavens; one based on truth, vibration and evolved consciousness. The idea of a kinship between the stars and humankind is ancient, multilayered and pervasive. Our ancient ancestors looked to the stars and asked the same questions we ask: “Why am I here? What happens when I die?” These age old questions had tremendous personal and societal implications as our ancestors looked to the heavens searching for meaning among the vast array of stars, and as a result belief systems emerged; systems of tradition, custom, legend and religious ideologies. But along the path of time these systems were diluted and altered, and humans were indoctrinated into beliefs that led them to lose their kinship to the stars, their true selves and their connection to the realm of divine consciousness.
In an effort to better understand the history and belief systems of humankind, I extensively researched the distant past and found there is a large base of supportive evidence indicating Earth has been visited by intellectual beings from beyond our planetary borders. Early humans were aware of their intrinsic connection to the cosmos and today we are just beginning to understand that connection and how humankind has benefited. The evidence is found in ancient megalithic and technological structures that defy explanation, and in the 1000s of unearthed artifacts from ancient civilizations that can be found housed in numerous museums around the globe, all of which provide valuable evidence to aid in the reconstruction of humankind’s history. It is this evidence that offers us an alternative to the theories espoused by mainstream archaeology as well as an alternative to the timeline of traditional history. Following are a few examples of the 100s of ancient sites around the world that call into question humankind's true origins on the planet:
-
Gobekli Tepe, Turkey, circa 9000 BC is considered to be the world’s oldest temple predating Stonehenge by 6000 years. The site consists of 20 circular stone enclosures, the largest is 65 feet across, with two elaborately carved pillars that are 18 feet tall at their center. The carved stone pillars weighing up to 10 tons, depict stylized human figures with folded hands wearing fox-pelt belts. Built in the pre-pottery Neolithic period before writing or the wheel, this site is an astounding example of an ancient site from the Neolithic era displaying a level of craftsmanship that contradicts all notions we have about the progress of humans in history.
-
Mohenjo Daro, Pakistan, circa 2500 BC is a remarkable example of civil engineering. This city in the Indus Valley was built approximately 4,500 years ago during the Chalcolithic era on a grid system. This ancient site had houses, some with indoor plumbing, a granary, baths, an assembly hall and towers all made out of standard size bricks. The streets were about eight to ten feet wide on average, and were built with well-engineered drainage channels. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this ancient city is the epicenter about 50 yards wide where everything was crystallized, fused or melted. Sixty yards from the epicenter the bricks are melted on one side indicating a blast similar to a nuclear explosion. The horrible, mysterious event of 4,000 years ago that leveled Mohenjo Daro was recorded in an old Hindu manuscript called the Mahabharata. How could humans barely out of the Neolithic era account for this type of engineering, much less a potential nuclear blast?
-
The Great Pyramid, Egypt, circa 2500 BC is the last of the seven ancient wonders and is the largest stone building in the world. The sheer size and the number of blocks quarried and moved into place presents numerous architectural, construction and engineering challenges for a culture living 4,500 years ago. The primitive tools scenario concocted by Egyptologists does not explain how this ancient civilization accomplished such a task nor does it explain the extensive use of different types of machined granite found inside the Great Pyramid chambers. This site remains the world’s greatest wonder and ancient enigma until you consider intervention from an advanced off-planet civilization.
-
Puma Punku, Bolivia, circa 400 BC, is one of the finest examples of precision engineering in the world. The site consist of an alignment of plazas and ramps centered on a man-made terraced platform mound with a sunken court and monumental complex on top, and consists of massive, precision cut stones weighing more than 100 tons. How could Neolithic humans achieve such momentous tasks when mainstream scientists theorize we were in the early stages of mastering agriculture?
-
Teotihuacan, Mexico, circa 400 BC. Teotihuacan was laid out according to a set of alignments that reflected celestial, geographic and geodetic relationships, and was the first true urban center in the Americas with an estimated population of 200,000. The Pyramid of the Sun is in a spot of prime astronomical significance on the western horizon. A sheet of mica once covered the upper tiers of the pyramid. Mica is an inflammable and non-conductive mineral that grows in fairly weak plate-like structures, and is not at all useful as a structural building material. NASA uses mica as a radiation shield in space vehicles. It is also used in electronic components and microwave ovens, and it is a good shield for electromagnetic radiation, like radio waves. Such technology makes one question the human origins of such a structure.

Even for a highly advanced civilization, interstellar travel would be quite difficult because of its immense power requirements due to the vast interstellar distances, on time scales of decades, centuries, or millennia as measured in time as humans currently understand it. But if these advanced civilizations have mastered the wavelength of light, then time travel is no longer part of the equation, they simply hop across timelines and thus become interstellar travelers, as well as space aliens. While investigating the paranormal realm, I encountered numerous astral plane beings that communicated and materialized, so I have no doubt that off-planet, highly advanced civilizations also have the ability to communicate and materialize in much the same way.
